The University of Rhode Islands R/V Endeavor recently returned from a research cruise that involved four teachers in oceanographic field work. Telepresence technology was used to allow the teachers students to see the research being conducted live from the ship. URI Professor Thomas Rossby tested acoustic fishtag technology, and URI Professor Chris Kincaid released 13 ocean drifters equipped with GPS technology to track the interconnectivity of currents in between Georges Bank and Rhode Island coastal waters.
