Description
The Global Class Research Vessel: Thomas G Thompson is currently looking for a 1st Assistant Engineer to come aboard and cruise to the South Pacific. This temporary position starts in San Diego and finishes in Wellington New Zealand. Port calls along the way include Hawaii and Fiji.
All travel costs are covered. If you haven't experienced the research side of maritime now is your chance!

Duties:
Serve as first assistant engineering officer aboard an ocean research ship of approximately 2000 gross tons. Under general supervision, serve as first assistant engineering officer in the operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery of a diesel electric powered ocean research ship, 6000 HP. Stand engine room watch as operating engineer of propulsion or auxiliary machinery; direct operation of engineering department personnel; direct routine maintenance of deck machinery, refrigeration and air conditioning; maintain operating and maintenance logs and records; perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's document endorsed with "First Assistant Engineer" STCW-95.

MMC, Passport, vaccination, TWIC, STCW med cert, BST, and VPDSD
