Serve as freight forwarder for R/V Sikuliaq; Maintain inventory of shipping supplies such as crates, boxes, pallets, and securing materials; Assist marine technicians and port engineer, as required. Assist SMC administration in procurement and outreach activities, as required. Provide supplemental snow removal for the 13-acre property, as needed; Ensure appropriate maintenance has been completed through review and monitoring. Ensure the small vessel is operational. Coordinate with internal and external scientists regarding cruise planning and vessel scheduling. Ensure safety inspections are complete and safety, equipment certifications/documentation is accurate and recorded. Operate small vessel during cruises; assist scientists and crew with deploying instruments, as required;
Host maintenance vendors who provide services and contracts for SMC equipment, boats, trucks, forklifts and tools;
High school diploma required
Preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field
Preferred 2+ years providing warehouse/shipping and receiving duties or equivalent
5+ years of experience operating vessels
