The Shipboard Science Systems Engineer is responsible for science systems and oceanographic technical services aboard R/V Sikuliaq. As part of the Science Support Group, this position serves as the ship’s scientific and technical liaison for multi-institutional oceanographic research missions. Duties include the installation, deployment, operation, and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment, as well as data acquisition and management. In addition to participating in cruises at sea, this position is expected to contribute to projects during layups and shipyard periods.
BS/BA in engineering or physical science
2 yrs minimum providing technical support
