January 10-11, 2012
A UNOLS-sponsored workshop will be held to develop sustainability guidelines for oceanographic research vessels. The workshop will be 1½ days long, with invited presentations from marine architects, designers, builders, related private businesses, and representatives of the federal government and foreign research vessel operators. In addition to the invited talks, time will be spent on breakout sessions discussing various issues related to marine sustainability. The objectives are to exchange information and develop sustainability recommendations to use in the operation of existing ships and the design and construction of future vessels.
An on-line registration form will be available soon on the UNOLS website (www.unols.org).
