Blocks of rooms with special rates have been arranged at two Seattle hotels for the participants of the 2009 RVTEC meeting to be held at the University of Washington. Please contact the hotels at the phone numbers below to reserve a room.

Directions to hotels from SeaTac Airport: Follow signs for freeways as you exit the airport. Merge onto northbound I-5 toward Seattle. Take Exit 169 (NE 45th St) and turn right onto NE 45th St. Proceed to Roosevelt Way NE (Union 76 station is on right corner) and turn right. Watertown Inn (4242) is about 1.5 blocks down on the left, and University Inn (4140) is on the next block, at the stoplight, also on the left.

Directions to the RVTEC Meeting Room at the Center for Urban Horticulture from the Hotels: Proceed east on NE 42nd St (along the front of University Inn) to 11th Ave NE (1 block) and turn left. Go to NE 45th St and turn right. Drive east on NE 45th past the University of Washington entrance, and come down a viaduct. At the stoplight at the bottom of the viaduct, turn left to stay on N.E. 45th Street (then move to the far right lane ASAP). At the next stoplight (5-way intersection), turn right onto Mary Gates Memorial Drive. Continue to the bend in the road where Mary Gates Drive becomes N.E. 41st St. The center is on your right. NHS Hall (Northwest Horticultural Society) is in the first complex of buildings. RVTEC will be held in the NHS main conference hall.
The Pre-meeting Working Group Sessions on Tuesday, November 17th will be held at:

Directions and Parking for the Working Group meeting rooms at the Marine Science Building (MSB) (from the hotels): Head west on NE 42nd St to Brooklyn Ave NE. Turn right (south) on Brooklyn and go to NE Boat St (the water is right in front of you). Turn left (east) on NE Boat St; at stop sign by Agua Verde, turn right to stay on Boat St. Proceed about 1 block to campus guard gate. Tell them you are attending a meeting at Oceanography in the Marine Sciences Bldg and they will assign you to parking, probably in the S-1 South Campus parking garage, the large 3-level lot straight ahead of you. Other Logistics (Local transportation and parking) The distance from the hotels to the RVTEC meeting site (Urban Horticulture Center) is about 1.8 miles and includes a long hill (down in the morning but up in the afternoon). It can be a challenging walk.
Shuttle arrangements - For individuals requiring transportation, there will be shuttles on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Nov 18-20) to and from the Urban Horticulture Center. The first shuttles will pick-up passengers from the hotels starting at 7:30 am. Please meet in the lobby if you need a ride.
The shuttles will also be available in the evenings for transporation to and from the vendor facilities. Additional details will follow.
