0830 Call the Meeting:  Dave Hebert, FIC Chair, will call the meeting to order and provide an opportunity for introductions.

0845 Academic Fleet Renewal Activities and Plans:

A mid morning 15-minute break will be called at 1015.

 

1200    Lunch

 

1300    Science Mission Requirements (SMRs):

·         Global Class Mid-Life Refit Planning and Science Mission Requirements
·         Handicap Accessibility and New Regulatory Requirement considerations in new SMRs and updates. Use of lessons learned and PCARs in updates to SMRs.

 

1345    KILO MOANA discussion

·         Review and discuss Debrief responses and post-cruise assessments.  Identify any new areas of concern.
·         Review the KILO MOANA’s cruise schedule and debrief assignments.
·         Review response (if any) from FIC’s letter to U. Hawaii.
·         Discuss feedback from WESTERN FLYER and KILO MOANA Captains.
·         SWATH ship motion analysis
·         Review pros and cons of monohull versus SWATH hull characteristics
·         Discuss ways/forums for educating the community on KILO MOANA’s capabilities (or limitations).

1500    Identify FIC Projects, Goals, and Priorities for 2005

 

1530    Review FIC Action Items and Assignments

 

1600    Draft a FIC Report for the Council Meeting – Include any recommendations and planned actions.
