UNOLS 2005 SHIP SCHEDULING MEETING
National Science Foundation
Stafford I, Room 1235
Arlington, VA.
JULY 21 & 22, 2004

Draft Agenda

The plan is to move quickly through all schedules showing which projects are covered, update funding status if known, list known orphan projects and identify problems or issues that require further discussion and resolution. In order to get through all schedules while program managers are present and to be sure we have identified all major issues, we will need to refrain from prolonged discussion and attempts at solving problems until after we have reviewed all schedules. As much time as possible will be set aside in the agenda to work on resolving outstanding issues by region and class of ship.

We will try to stick with the times shown in the agenda so that science program managers can plan on when to attend the meeting. The first hour and a half will be an opportunity to see where projects are tentatively scheduled and to raise concerns. The discussion of options and solutions for the large ships and ROV's will take place just after lunch.

A wrap up and review of outstanding issues will take place Thursday morning for program managers with UNOLS Executive Secretary, Scheduling Chair and any schedulers staying for the second day. This will be followed by a review of the new UNOLS scheduling and ship request database system.
