1-23-04 - 7-04-04
I worked on the R/V WECOMA for Oregon State University.I worked as an
AB and my duties included the following.Pre deployment ship yard work.Painting
- needle - gunning ship board maintenance.While under way I would stand
wheel watch.Run the crane - a frame and various winches.I would help
support the science party in what ever they neded.This included ctd's
- towing the swims and recovery of obs.I also would deploy and the run
the skiff to drop the science party off on diffferent Islands.Our area
of operation ranged from Newport, OR to Guam - Saipan - Hawaii and the
Pacific NW.
9-07-03 - 11-01-03
I worked for Foss Maritime.I worked for them as an AB.We were doing
ocean towing from Seattle to Adak, AK and various stops in between.My
duties included the following.Making and breaking tow.Line work docking
and docking the ship and barge.Lashing and un lashing the containers
upon arrival and departure of port.Ship board maintenance and cleanliness.

I worked as an AB as a civilian for the U.S. navy.I worked at PSNS ship
yard SUB BASE BANGOR and we would assisst at Indian Island and Everett.I
worked on their YTB tugboats.For the most part we would do ship assist
bringing in and pulling out various U.S. Navy vessels.This includes
Submarines.Aircraft Carriers,Destroyers and Frigates.We would also tow
fuel barges,berthing barges and floating cranes.I also did all the maintenance
on the tug's in the yards this included painting - needle gunning -
chip grind etc.I also worked on the log broncs.These are small work
boats we use to move barges,ol booms and to dock and un docksubmarines.The
log broncs are also used to dock and un dock small ships or assist the
tug's when needed.
10-20-00 - 11-20-01
I worked for "American Safari Cruise" on their 120' yacht
"Safari Quest". I was lead deck hand in charge of ship board
maintenance.I would also stand wheel watch and act as look out.I worked
all over So. East Alaska,San Francisco and up the old Sacramento to
Sacramento.I was in charge of taking passengers on shore excursions
via the skiff.I also worked in the yards on the ship doing everything
from fire watch to painting.I was also in chaarge of all davit and crane
operations.
7-13-99 - 7-15-00
I worked for "Alaska Sightseeing Cruise West.I worked on the "Spirit
Of Endeavour " it is a 217' small cruise ship which carries up
to 102 passengers.I was senior deck hand on board and was in charge
of painting , cleaning , wheel watch , skiff ops and running the the
crane and davits.I also worked on the "Spirit Of 98" for the
same company and my duties were much the same.I would reposition the
boats up and down the west coast.I also worked in the yards for this
company.My duties in the yard were painting - needle gunning - fire
watch - varnish work.I was usally in charge of a small work crew consisting
of 3-5 people.
Other Experience:
I have worked a few other ships but just for short 1-2 month relief
positions.These ships include the R/V Weatherbird II out of bermuda
as well as various private yachts through out the world.I was also in
the Navy from 1991 - 1995 and received and honorable discharge.
