Older Benthos Pingers

WHOI ships use the Bethos 2216 pingers for some wire work, esp. dredging.  (this

is the heavy SS beast that we all know and love.)  Benthos no longer supports

these, or wants to have anything to do with them.  (Yes, I'm probably late to

the party, since we have been doing in-house maintenance on them for a number

of years, but that person retired.)

Anyway, I think a few people have tried the newer product from Benthos, the

BFP-312 and the BFP-312HP and I was wondering how they liked them and how they

compare to the old ones.  Is the HP (high power) version needed?  Anyone

recommend any other source for a powerful pinger?

Also, does anyone have old 2216's they don't want anymore, broken or otherwise?

With some parts I can probably get a few more years out of these.
