Community Input Requested

Viewport Arrangements for Replacement Human Occupied Vehicle (HOV)

Dear Colleagues,

The Replacement HOV Oversight Committee seeks input from the deep-submergence community and from DSRV pilots on options for viewport configurations.  The attached document <Viewport Arrangements> provides details on the options available (including illustrations of locations and viewsheds), together with pro's and con's.

There are two basic questions to answer:

1) Should the front three windows be a mix of 6 and 7 inch diameter or should they all be 7 inch?

2) Should the outboard (side) observer windows be retained?

Please take a moment to provide a brief rationale for your response.

Send your response to Chris German (cgerman@whoi.edu) by 15 Dec.

We value your expertise in deep-submergence operations.

Sincerely,

Cindy
